XP1 in the Outback
What do you get when you put dirt bikes, a massive campfire, beer, a "troopie," eight rambunctious Aussies and the XP1 together in the woods for a weekend of camping? A True Torture Test.
Well, perhaps "torture" is the wrong word, as our friends down under seemed to really enjoy pushing the XP1 to its limits. Thankfully for us, the XP1 proved to be the perfect companion for the outdoors even after being washed with beer, buried into the ground, hit around with cricket bats, and set on fire.

Hello.
I saw video with man who drops phone to glass of water, then to fish. Is this video real?
IP-54 means "defence agains splashing water". So "immersion up to 1 m" has to kill this phone. Explain this please.

Hi there,
The video you are referencing was indeed real, although we understand that the phone isn't completely water proof. We had luck keeping the phones working submerged in water and then also not. Our next product, the XP3, will carry an IP-57 rating, so it can take the fish tank everyday.
Thanks for your interest,

any chance you can add a small torch light to the next model? my current junky 'rugged' nokia has one and while the phone is hopeless the torch is very handy

Hey John,
Bob here. thanks for you comment. I've been thinking about this too. Not just a flashlight but a load of other features that would be useful for people that work and play hard in the rugged outdoors.
Watch out for our announcement in the next few months...
And of course, if there are any other ideas that you have let me know. I'll run them by our R&D guys.
Speak soon,
Bob
